I'm back. My trip home was wonderful and relaxing. Got to see ALMOST everyone I wanted to see. And as much as I had a great time I'm equally relieved that I'm back and no car or airplane crashes to talk about.hehee. Hope everyone had a great turkey day!

I'm a sign maker today. I'm sitting in Kari's cubical at Marshall Fields...and I'm thinking I want her job. So far today she punched in and we drank coffee and chatted with her co-workers. KEWL gig. I'm having a splendid time on my vacation. I love Minnesota. I knew I did. Now I get to experience the Twin Cities Metro transportation. EEKS. Taking a metro bus to Jackie's. Wish me luck.

I really don't think I'm going crazy..but the emoticon that a friend just sent was the winking one but it would go back and forth from a regular smile to a wink. Is that normal?

Please excuse the Minnesota nostalgia. I got this from my friend Eric today and couldn't stop laughing. True?
You know you are a true Minnesotan when:
1. Your idea of a traffic jam is ten cars waiting to pass a tractor on the highway.
2. "Vacation" means going up north past Brainerd for the weekend.
3. You measure distance in hours.
4. You know several people who have hit deer more than once.
5. You often switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day and back again.
6. Your whole family wears Viking purple to church on Sunday.
7. You can drive 65 mph through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard, without flinching.
8. You see people wearing hunting clothes at social events.
9. You install security lights on your house and garage and leave both unlocked.
10. You think of the major food groups as beer, fish, and venison.
11. You carry jumper cables in your car and your girlfriend knows how to use them.
12. There are 7 empty cars running in the parking lot at Mill's Fleet Farm at any given time.
13. You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit.
14. Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow.
15. You refer to the Vikings as "we."
16. You know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter and road construction.
17. You can identify a southern or eastern accent.
18. You have no problem pronouncing Wayzata.
19. You consider Minneapolis exotic.
20. You don't have a coughing fit from one sip of Pig's Eye Pilsner.
21. Your idea of creative landscaping is a statue of a deer next to your blue spruce.
22. You were unaware that there is a legal drinking age.
23. Down South to you means Iowa.
24. A brat is something you eat.
25. Your neighbor throws a party to celebrate his new machine shed.
26. You go out to fish fry every Friday.
27. You know how to polka.
28. Your 4th of July picnic was moved indoors due to frost.
29. You have more miles on your snow blower than your car.
30. You find 0 degrees "a little chilly"

My "friend" Dan called me today from the Corrupt Advertising Headquarters (CAH)! I was SO excited to hear from him. Seems I've won a trip to Disney World and Daytona for only $99! Wow. Usually, if you WIN something doesn't that mean it's free? Silly ol' Dan.

Had a tarot card reading done today. No more mysteries for Kristen. I know it all. Getting married and gonna have 4 children!!! YIKERS! 2 boys, 2 girls. I think I'll just surrender now. I don't want FOUR! Can't tell any more. Just have to wait and see what happens.
Kacey and I also went to mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral tonite (to cancel out our tarot card reading). It was the most beautiful building I've ever seen!

It's 1:11AM. I was sitting at the train station at 7PM waiting for the train with Caroline. When it came we ran. I left my purse sitting there...for all to see and take and destroy my life. I loved the concert...we sat right behind Yoko Ono... but I was very preoccupied with my life's belongings and how I was going to replace them. Car keys, wallet, credit cards, cell phone. I called my phone all night hoping someone would pick up. When I got home at 1:10, I tried once more and the conductor of a train picked up!!!!!! They have it! I'm going to the train station at 2:10AM to pick it up. Thank you God! Why do girls insist on carrying everything with, always? Man, am I relieved...and I'm dileriously tired so I'm rambling. G'night.:-)

Ok, y'all are going to think I've flipped my lid when I put this entry up...but it's more for me than you.hehee. I was in the car today thinking about my life and how far I've come since the infamous breakups of yesteryear (how's that for avoiding namedropping?). Anyway, I recalled this blog that I wrote last December when I was finally starting to see the light of graduation and singledom.
Here goes:
"Since September the 11th, I have re-evaluated myself as a person and as a citizen of these wonderful United States. I have learned that there is more to life than money and social status and that I am blessed to have food on the table (or on Sue's bed as the case may be). Sue and I are currently living in the basement of a group home as the live-in staff for overnights. We have found that we need very little and want very much in life. You learn a lot about a person when you live with them in a room that is about 20'X20'. I have learned that Sue Wintheiser is a wonderful human being to her very core...and I am so lucky to have her as my friend. She claims that she is leaving in February to pursue her dream of living in a big city...Chicago."
...Blah blah blah...(this is me editing)
"[My boyfriend and I] have broken up and I have never been more satisfied with myself as a human, a woman, and as a goal-seeking adult. I am coming to know myself better than ever before and have decided that there is very little room for a man in my life with all of the things I want to do. In June, I plan on buying a house in the Twin Cities and beginning my new job in summer school. I will own a dog and touch base with at least one close friend per week. I will drive my new Saturn and pay off bills that have been awaiting payment for over 5 years now. LIfe will be great...and if a male happens to find his way into the maze of my life, that is wonderful...but if not, I will be all the more satisfied and in control." The end.
Being able to quote yourself is funny. I like it.
Man, I'm so happy here! If you're ever in a complete and utter rut and you just don't know what to do next, you should DEFINITELY just start all over! It feels naked at first. But then, just like skinny dipping, the feeling of freedom comes and it's an indescribable high!

People don't rake leaves here. They hire scary looking men to blow them into the neighbor's yard.
