What with all the sadness and trauma going on in the
world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the
death of a very important person which almost went
unnoticed last week. Larry La Prise, the man who
wrote the song "The Hokey Pokey" died peacefully at
age 93. The most traumatic part for his family was
getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg
in...and then the trouble started.

There was an engineer with Fox News who was imbedded in with a U.S. tribe (i don't know what they call those groups. lol. my bad). They stormed one of Saddam's palaces and the soldiers looted it. Took everything they could that was kewl. They cut paintings off of the walls and one soldier gave the engineer a couple. When he was on his way back he went through customs...and security didn't like his lack of a good story. He has been fired from Fox now, and could be charged and sentenced to 15 years for just accepting those paintings! Can you believe it? Would I have done the same in his situation? I think so...eeks! I wonder if he even knew that he would get in trouble!? Brooke was working from home today and came down to tell me that story. Sad.

Brooke's on her last stretch. We're gonna have a baby in two weeks or less! Yikers! She's now working from home which kind of changes the job. I just realized that I'm leaving here in just over a month...and I'm not so sure how I feel about that. My brother, Andy, today suggested that I become a career nanny for them. Jacob makes that a tempting idea.

After weekends like this past, it makes me sad that I'll soon be so far from the best city in the world. I got to go to Easter mass at St. Patricks Cathedral and on Saturday got to browse in the cute shops of Hoboken. The end...

My trip to ABC studios was sooo much fun. Even though we had to wait FOREVER to get in...
I got to shake Meredith's hand and got snubbed by Star. I will never buy Payless Shoes again...JUST KIDDING. Like I'd punish myself like that. But she was a witch.
Anyway, great experience. And Amber said I even got a closeup. I want a copy!!;-)

I feel sooo loved! This is Kacey's rebuttal. heheee.

Reasons NOT to leave Kacey:

1. Because you cant see my facial expressions over the telephone or computer. In which case..you wont be able to laugh or make fun of me as often.
2. NYC = a train ride away ( I mean really)
3. The shopping here is like nowhere else..what will you do w/o H& M when you need something last minute?
4. Because Im Ghetto!!!!
5. Nobody else understands how great of an idea things like "The Pee Store" actually are.
6. I can tell you that I dont believe in caverns and that they just arent real and you dont get mad at me.
7. You need me to "Bust you out" sometimes
8. Because walking through central park and mentioning that the word naked reminded you of something..and I immediately say "Yeah, its because that time we were in Greenwhich Village in that grocery store looking at the Time Out NY magazine and there were articles about naked shefs and people streaking in the streets".... You dont get that in MN
9. Broadway Shows and Road Trips
10. Scottys is home base
11. Nobody in MN knows what YEESSSS MUSIC is.
12. BECAUSE I SAID SO!!! Please dont leave me!!!!!

There are reasons Kari is my friend. Mostly cuz she justifies everything I do. She emailed this today.

Reasons MN is better than NY:
1. Cheaper beer. Kinda.
2. You don't have to feel bad changing your order or taking back food. Well, you can feel bad if you wanna, but it's not required.
3. No children allowed in MN.
4. You can embrace your redneck roots?
5. Erik.
6. Six!!!!!!!!
7. MN is a lot more trendy. Especially Robbinsdale.
8. You can brag about living in NY for a year
9. I heard that living in basements in really much better than living upstairs in NJ.
10. You won't have anyone to answer to. I won't be mad at you if you leave anyone in the car for ten seconds.
11. I'm really hungry and this list isn't making much sense.
12. I just spelled sense as "sence".
13. Seriously.

Thanks, Kar!

Kinda weirded out right now. Just found out that I'm invited to my ex-boyfriend's wedding this summer. We dated for 3 1/2 yrs but it was so long ago that I should be fine with it, right? I really am excited for him and want him to be very happy, however, for the longest time I thought I'd be the one with the white dress on the day of his wedding. Stupid, huh!? UGH. Why am I feeling so strage about it?

I was talking to my friend Ryan today...telling him that at some point during college I decided to stop being so PC and just started letting my brain drool out through my mouth. He decided that I could be compared to the little mountain climber on the Price is Right. I just keep going higher and higher (with that attitude). Yes, he's on crack. But I like the idea of being the yodelling mountain climber.

In sixteenth-century France, the start of the new year was observed on April first. It was celebrated in much the same way as it is today with parties and dancing into the late hours of the night. Then in 1562, Pope Gregory introduced a new calendar for the Christian world, and the new year fell on January first. There were some people, however, who hadn't heard or didn't believe the change in the date, so they continued to celebrate New Year's Day on April first.

Today Americans play small tricks on friends and strangers alike on the first of April. One common trick on April Fool's Day, or All Fool's Day, is pointing down to a friend's shoe and saying, "Your shoelace is untied." Teachers in the nineteenth century used to say to pupils, "Look! A flock of geese!" and point up. School children might tell a classmate that school has been canceled. Whatever the trick, if the innocent victim falls for the joke the prankster yells, "April Fool! " Others change their websites to look like their most beloved friends' site. Those folks are called "Wannabes".

I tried posting a big fat lie this morning for April Fools but it turns out that Blogger is a truth serum. It can tell if you're posting lies and will edit them. Damn. Figures...the one time I come up with a pretty good one (it even had Regis Philbin in it) it won't post. Anyway, HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY!
