So Jason and I are wandering around the mall about 2 weeks ago and we see a sign for the Toby Keith/Terri Clark concert we have been wanting to get tickets for. We're like "Heh..nobody likes country 'round here! I bet if we sign up we'll be the only ones and we'll win!". Sure enough, I get a call today that I won the tickets! Seriously, this is the best place to be a country music lover! Last year we went to the Poconos in Pennsylvania to go camping and ended up passing a John Michael Montgomery concert...we bought tix at the door and ended up front row. SWEET.

Single life was Boring, and married life will be Bland for this new bride. Katie Boring wed Nathan Bland June 12. And the Boring-Bland affair was anything but, said the groom. "It was great," said groom Nathan Bland. "We had family and a bunch of college and high school friends there, and our reception was at a winery. We all had a great time."
After the announcement of their engagement was published last winter, the impending,"Boring-Bland" merger was mentioned on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," in a segment where the comedian calls attention to unusual name combinations.
"It caught us by surprise,"Nathan said. "We each got, like, 10 phone calls from friends that
night." Bland, out of town on business, was flipping channels in his hotel room when he saw it. "I was like, 'Oh my gosh, that's our picture! That's us!'" he said. Some friends had joked about sending the engagement notice to Leno, but nobody took credit once it actually made the show.

That's when humor ends and beating begins. Better not happen to us!

It's hard to post anything after making that announcement. I want to just leave it there by its lonesome for all of website eternity, but I decided it's time to talk.
The PGA was incredible. Whistling Straits is gorgeous and it was soo much fun spending the week with not only my parents, but also Jason's parents and other family members. We were there for a whole week, and as Jason returned to work from a trip in which he worked, Baltusrol thought he should be well rested from his "vacation". We have yet to have a whole night alone together since the engagement.
My brother, Andy, flew in on Monday..the same day we got home from Wisconsin. The 2 of us had a lot of fun bonding in the city on Tuesday. On Wednesday, he was an angel and came to school with me to do bulletin boards and start getting prepared for the new year.
On Thursday, Andy's friend, Brenna, flew in to Newark to stay with us as well. Yesterday and today the two of them "did the city" alone! I'm so impressed with their skillz!

Jason and I are engaged!
All I can tell you is that it happened last weekend and this whole week has been one whole PGA blur. I'll tell more when I gather my thoughts. But in the meantime...I'M ENGAGED! I have a "fiance"!

• I've been working at an appliance wholesaler this week. Learning all kinds of useless knowledge about washers, dryers, dishwashers, and refrigerators. The good part is that the people I work with are awesome and I have email and the internet. PHEW! Therefore, you should email me between 8 and 5 (EST)...I need entertainment.
• Jason and I are leaving for Wisconsin on Sunday, so this leaves me lots of time to make lists of what lists I need to make. Then I condense that list into yet another list. You get the idea. I'm bored.
• Still haven't eaten any meat...fish, yes.
• It's Jackie's birthday on Saturday! Get ready!
• Klank and I went to the beach on Monday and my face got burned really badly. It hurts. But when I tell people, I can only tell and retell myself my grandpa's old joke..."It hurts me too!" Good one, gramps!:-)
