As a surprise, I took J on a dinner cruise around Manhattan for his birthday. The real surprise ended up being pouring rain and a stalled train, making us do a trains, fairies, and automobiles type of adventure. Drowned rats still have fun. Here are some highlight pics.

A huge thank you to everyone who made my birthday weekend so special! Even though I had to work and got sick, everybody's calls, cards, gifts, and free drinks were much appreciated;-)
Also, something really big happened that made it even more special. I'll tell when they go public...but it made this weekend the best EVER!!!! Hi Denny!!!

After way too many hours of sitting in an empty office this weekend, we are officially registered and have a wedding website with all of the dirty details of our wedding weekend. Phew.

I got my wedding ring!!! We picked it up tonite!! I'm sooooo excited...now I'm practicing what I'll look like when...I'm on the computer when I'm married, when I'm in the kitchen when I'm married, when I'm in the bathroom and I'm married. You get the point. I'm a freak.

When J and I first got engaged I registered just for fun at this department store. After forgetting about it, a package arrived at our door the other day from that same store. Inside the box was a wrapped gift with the beautiful Kate Spade Flutes I had put on that fake registry with a card from people in Boca Raton, Florida. I called our whole family, asking if they knew them...nope. I had to painfully call this woman and tell her there was a mistake. She was very grateful and sweet..and the good part is we still haven't heard from the dept. store. We're still crossing our fingers that they'll let us keep 'em! Wouldn't that be sweet? Happy engagment to us!;-)

I just got back from lunch. I have this thing against how society makes you go everywhere WITH someone or else we feel badly about ourselves. Therefore, to show how I don't care, I went for sushi alone. Sitting there, I felt like a complete idiot, only parties of 2-6 sitting all around me. Why do we do that to ourselves and each other? Are you afraid to eat alone?
