Jason and I would like to share our big news with the internet world....
we're adding another Grode to the family, and it's not another Shih Tzu!
We're having a baby!!!!
Although maybe a bit premature to be sharing the news, I can't keep it in. Everyone knows I can't even keep a teeny secret, let alone the fact that there's a EMBRYO in my belly.
So there it is. We're due January 31, 2007.

It has been too hot this weekend to do anything but sit around and think of ice cream treats. Sooo, while waiting at the drive thru at DQ yesterday, the girls at the window caught a glance of Tiger. They, like any smart person, thought he was adorable and asked if he wanted a "doggy dish". I was like "huh? doggy dish?" She said they give them out to cute puppies. So...Tiger got a whole dish of ice cream from the nice girls and was he in LOVE! When we got home from the park, he had stiff whiskers all around his mouth that smelled of DQ ice cream. Mmmmmm. We love Dairy Queen...LOVE.

I was taking a nap yesterday after work and all of a sudden sat straight up when I realized the fire alarm was going off in the hallway. I wasn't sure how long I had been sleeping through it and was pretty sure we were going up in flames. For a split second my mind circled around our apartment trying to figure out what I should grab that would be tragic if lost, and discovered the puppy and I were the only things that really mattered. What a realization!
So I ran downstairs with Tiger in hand, no shoes, no phone. On the way down, I smelled smoke...strong. When we got outside, I found out that the fire was in the garbage closet. This guy and his girlfriend were so cute...they called 911 and the guy said "I've always wanted to be a fireman!" and with that, ran into the building! He came out a little bit later for air and went back in. When he came out the second time, firetrucks still had not arrived but he had extinguished it!
We all thought he should be awarded as an honorary firefighter.
It turned out to be a much more eventful afternoon than I had planned with my nap and all of our belongings were in their perfect messy piles when we got back upstairs! Phew!

As I'm forced to watch MSNBC all day, every day at work, I get fun little business tidbits that I can pretend to talk smart about in the evenings. Lots of fun stock facts and interviews with rich business analysts. Today, I took away a website that all of these geniuses are raving about...it's called www.youtube.com. Hours of entertainment...or minutes at least.
