Taste of Minnesota this weekend, guys!!
A hungry, pregnant girl's dream! Deep fried pickles, s'mores, cone or PAIL of chocolate, kettle corn, funnel cakes, and anything you can imagine on a stick!:-)
Anyone else going or are you all exercising self control?
Heck, if you need more convincing, Tim Mahoney and Alice Cooper are gonna be there!

Not that I should be proud of this for any reason, but I must share that already in week 9 of my pregnancy I am in need of MATERNITY pants...or something other than my own regular pants! GROSS! I have actually purchased a few pieces but they're too big. What do people do in the "in-between" stage? I can't afford a whole wardrobe for regular, a whole wardrobe for maternity, and a whole wardrobe for in-between! Seriously. Thanks to Kari, I may have a few more options next week. We'll see. Boo. Can all you seasoned mommies share your suggestions?

Is it normal for puppies to lay like this? It looks like a scoliosis nightmare to me.

Jason's sister and niece, Jennie and Amanda, came to visit us this weekend! We had a great time at the Mall of America (bought my first maternity clothes!!!!), grilling out, and today we went on a Minnesota adventure to Hutchinson. Why Hutchinson you may ask? They have puppies there. Many puppies. Amanda fell in love with our Tiger and we thought she should have a replica;-)
Therefore....NOW INRODUCING the next in a line of babies in the Grode Family....
Beemer Grode the Yorkie/Maltese.... Yorktese.

Here were options 1 & 2....but the winner was....

OPTION 3!!!!

The proud new mommy and great uncle, Jason!

We couldn't send the baby home without a first bath with Tiger!

Overall, a great weekend with the Grode Girlz!!! Thanks, guys....

Things at the Grode residence have been very low key lately. It mostly consists of talk about what the next meal will be, how the last one made me feel, and what snack we should have, along with potty breaks, nausea checks and what movie we should get. (sidenote: have seen a few great movies...highly recommend Rumor Has It, Winter Passing, and Dreamer...slightly recommend Bewitched)
Yesterday morning my new friends arrived (mine are RED! I look like I've taken up tennis). They may very well have been sent to me from Heaven. So far they've been on me 24/7 since they arrived and no nausea. I'm sure you're dying to know, so I'll keep you posted.
Today they're testing my limits by putting me in the backseat of a van and driving 2 1/2 hrs to Starbuck for grandpa's birthday party. Pray for me...HARD! Thanks.

Now that the word is out, I can share some of the details of pregnancy (though I'm sure many of you have already been through it...and need no reminder). Right now, I'm nauseous. Last night, nauseous. Later? Hopefully NOT nauseous. That's about all I can think about right now. Also, I have decided to stop worrying about what the scale says. It's soooo depressing after getting off of Nutrisystem and losing all this weight to start climbing the number ladder again. Boo. It's a good battle to be fought though, right? RIGHT?
