It has been a very eventful week. This is our apartment building that went up in flames. Luckily our unit was spared the flames but most likely has a good deal of smoke damage. We're still waiting to find out the details...from a hotel.

Merry Christmas from our new family! Maya Anneliese Grode was born this past Thursday, December 21 by cesarian at 34 weeks. She is 18" long and 4 lbs 14 oz. Although the delivery was not at all as we had planned, we are soooo in love. She is doing wonderfully but will be staying at the hospital for a while longer while she learns to eat a little better and keep her temperature up on her own. Get ready for an explosion of pictures! I'm doing great in my recovery and the blood pressure and swelling have gone down, almost to normal. We are very blessed this Christmas...

I have officially hit 33 weeks, having a living, breathing creature inside of me. Unfortunately, she has gotten me so worked up in anticipation of meeting her that I have developed high blood pressure and have been put on bedrest until delivery. I did, however, get a laptop from work and am able to get some time in on the job from my couch and Kari and Finn are a great entertainment committee!!:-) Moral of the story is that I love emails!! Thanks.
