I know so many of you have been praying for Bonnie's recovery. We all really thought she was going to pull through. Sadly, yesterday afternoon, Bonnie passed away. She will be sooo missed by everyone who knew her.
We love you Bonnie.
Please keep your prayers flowing for Jackie and her family.

As many of you know, my good friend Jackie's mom, Bonnie Severson, is back in the hospital and waiting for a liver donor. As she waits her condition is slowly getting more serious. Please visit this site to keep updated on Bonnie's status. Your prayers are very appreciated...
Also, there is going to be a benefit held for her on May 6th in Blaine, MN to help with the ridiculous costs of her medical bills. Please email me for more info on that. Thank you!!!

So I went on an adventure this morning with Maya to The Mall. Feeling all giddy, I went into the stores I used to frequent, pre-mommyhood. First, I went into H&M. I went in feeling giddy, walked out feeling like an old, shrivelled fatso. I used to be fashionable like all of them...I swear! Then I went into Gap, where I very quickly passed over the women's clothing and went directly to Baby Gap. What has happened? Time for Kristen(seen above) to reclaim Kristen(seen below).

I have always loved Easter! I love the colors of spring, frilly dresses, baskets, bunnies (mostly the Cadbury one), eggs (real and the Cadbury kind), and the idea that we all get to be pure again. It's a fresh holiday.
Every year since I can remember, I have dyed eggs. LOTS of eggs. Decorating them, dying all of my fingers, the smell of vinegar, and sneaking a snack when nobody was looking...so much fun!
When I found out I was pregnant, I got so excited that I would have a buddy to help me with pumpkin carving for Halloween, tree decorating for Christmas, and egg decorating for Easter! Well, here it is. This is the first of those major holidays...and here's a picture of how exciting decorating was....

This is my new favorite website because of the following story which was posted on Monday.
It just seemed to hit my funny bone this morning....

Not “Just a Mom”
Author Unknown

A woman named Emily renewing her driver’s license at the County Clerk’s office was asked by the woman recorder to state her occupation. She hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself.
“What I mean is,” explained the recorder, “do you have a job, or are you just a…”
“Of course I have a job,” snapped Emily. “I’m a mother.”
“We don’t list ‘mother’ as an occupation… ‘housewife’ covers it,” said the recorder emphatically.
I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself in the same situation, this time at our own Town Hall. The Clerk was obviously a career woman, poised, efficient, and possessed of a high sounding title like, “Official Interrogator” or “Town Registrar.” “What is your occupation?” she probed.
What made me say it, I do not know… The words simply popped out. “I’m a Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations.”
The clerk paused, ballpoint pen frozen in midair, and looked up as though she had not heard right.
I repeated the title slowly, emphasizing the most significant words. Then I stared with wonder as my pronouncement was written in bold, black ink on the official questionnaire.
“Might I ask,” said the clerk with new interest, “just what you do in your field?”
Coolly, without any trace of fluster in my voice, I heard myself reply, “I have a continuing program of research, (what mother doesn’t), in the laboratory and in the field, (normally I would have said indoors and out). I’m working for my Masters, (the whole darned family), and already have four credits, (all daughters). Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities, (any mother care to disagree?) and I often work 14 hours a day, (24 is more like it). But the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers and the rewards are more of a satisfaction rather than just money.”
There was an increasing note of respect in the clerk’s voice as she completed the form, stood up, and personally ushered me to the door.
As I drove into our driveway, buoyed up by my glamorous new career, I was greeted by my lab assistants - ages 13, 7, and 3. Upstairs I could hear our new experimental model, (a 6 month old baby), in the child-development program, testing out a new vocal pattern.
I felt triumphant! I had scored a beat on bureaucracy! And I had gone on the official records as someone more distinguished and indispensable to mankind than “just another mother.”
Motherhood…What a glorious career! Especially when there’s a title on the door.

Is this funny? Or...? I need help. I feel like my sense of humor has stepped out of the room for a moment.

Guess who managed to break 6...count them, SIX, beer bottles today. The all came toppling down on me as I tried to move the box off the top of the refrigerator. I have never been so clutzy in my life! I seem to constantly be running into walls and knocking stuff over! The other day I dumped a WHOLE BOWL of cereal and milk over our recliner chair! It's scary to me that they say new moms are usually clumsier than normal. At a time when I need my balance and composure most with a NEWBORN, I am dumping stuff over. Sheesh.
