Lucky Maya has been going to Kari's during the day to hang out with Finn while I'm at work. Check out what Kari's payback was today when Jason went to pick her up!!!

This week has been a huge developmental week for our little girly. She has started waving when people say "hi" or "byebye", high 5-ing, and giggling lots. She is so much fun!

Today is my first day back to work full time. I'm absolutely a ball of nerves. Please keep Maya and me in your prayers today. I need all the help I can get. Wouldn't it be awful if I just broke down in tears my first day? They might not ask me to come back! But...then I could stay home!:-)

Yesterday morning I was stressing out about going back to work full time and leaving Maya at daycare for an insane amount of time each day. The more I thought about it, the worse I felt. As I started getting physically sick I started thinking "wow, I'm such a drama queen I have made myself ill!". A couple hours later it had declared itself. Not the drama, but the flu! WHO...tell me WHO get's the stomach flu in August? I do! So all afternoon and evening I lay as still as possible, trying to find a comfortable position that wouldn't make me lose the 2 crackers I had eaten, as my wonderful husband was on Daddy Duty for the entire evening. Then I heard beeping on the TV. The storms are coming! "Take cover. Go to the lowest point in your building!" At 11pm we woke up the baby, got out flashlights and headed down the the garage to sit in our car. Thank goodness we have the sweetest baby ever who opened her eyes with a smile and just cooed until it was time to go back upstairs in the dark. Our electricity was out from 11:30 last night to 7:30 this morning. Sheesh. Hopefully today will be better than yesterday.

Yesterday was a big milestone day for Baby Cakes!
For the past couple weeks Maya has been rolling onto her tummy in her sleep and waking up every hour or so, crying, and needing her pacifier and blankie replaced to get back to sleep. So I was online last night, desperately looking to see if this is normal around 7 months. Turns out it's very normal and one website, Baby Squared, said that she finally just soothed her baby back to sleep on her tummy, feeling all the guilt of the Back to Sleep campaign on her shoulders (how DARE we have our babies sleep on their tummies!LoL) From that point on her TWINS slept wonderfully through the night. Subsequent readers had commented that the exact day they read that blog their baby slept on their bellies for the first time on their own. At 4:30am I went in to check on Maya, as she hadn't made a peep since 9pm...sure enough, I had a belly sleeper on my hands! NO WAY!
On top of sleeping on her front side, yesterday she also figured out how to crawl/scoot!! It's sooo hilarious and fun to watch! Makes you appreciate the fact that we all walk upright...
Yay for Baby Maya!!

We went to Jeff Gustafson's softball game last night and got to see Jeff and Nell's kids, Tyler & Emily. There was also a preemie baby at the game, the size that Maya was at a month old!! Now she looks like a giant in comparison:-) We just had a grand ol' time!
