This weekend has already brought a lot of changes in our household. Friday was Maya's last day hanging out with Finn and Kari during the weekdays. It's bittersweet. Kari will continue doing IA work and we have finally found a daycare provider who we feel will do a wonderful job with Maya. So Monday is her first day there. Also, two nights ago a new skill began and last night was mastered. Maya is the queen of climbers! Yikes. The below picture shows the first time we realized we are really in a new stage! We have a TODDLER!

This is such a huge issue for me... I wish there were an easy way to sensor yourself just from certain people.

Much to the scorn of anti-tv moms, our morning ritual has come to include me putting on makeup and doing my hair while Maya holds her own "baba" and watches Baby First TV(although in this picture she is watching Disney because the jerks at DTV cut us off..for a whole day). She loves it and I love not having to worry about her eating the dog's food! Yesterday morning, I had gotten ready, and went out to the living room to see this... all of a sudden I realized she's not going to be small forever. She is very quickly becoming my DAUGHTER and not my BABY. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but I love that girl more than I've loved anything in my whole life. What a blessing it is to be a parent!

Maya said "dada" for the first time last night. Jason is soooo proud. Mommy is soooo disappointed;-)

I think it's so bizarre how YouTube didn't even exist a couple years ago and now you can get famous just by posting a dumb video. See how many you recognize!

The last couple weeks have been just a whirlwind of "firsts" and activities. I can hardly keep up with all of the new developments in Maya. She has become such a fun person and is so joyful! She now says "ba-ba", "help", & "up". Jason and I are having a competition to get her to either "mama" or "dada". I'll keep you posted.
Sweet Kari has been watching her during the week and she is so happy there. Who knows how long it'll last, but I'm thankful for every day I get. Going to work is actually a positive thing when I know my baby is in the best care possible.
Happy "Back to School Days" for all you students and teachers! The first week of school is always difficult for me. It seems like I should be going back...in some capacity! Teacher OR student:-) Once we reach the second and third weeks and it starts getting to be "old hat", I'm not as regretful. Sniff a marker and bang some chalkboard erasers together for me....
These are Maya's back to school photos:
