Happy Halloween! Our little bee had a great day...starting with her daycare friends trick-or-treating and wrapped up with a fun clubhouse celebration in our complex. Jason even got some goodies out of the deal;-)

It is with great sadness that I post this news. Mark Hughes (aka. Huey), a great friend, boss, and coworker of Jason's, passed away suddenly while on their 25 wedding anniversary vacation in San Juan, Puerto Rico this past weekend. He drowned while trying to save his beloved wife from the ocean's undercurrents. Thankfully, Lisa survived. They have 2 college-aged sons. Please keep their family in your prayers. His funeral will be in Derry, Pennsylvania this coming Saturday.
Huey was OBSESSED with the band Moody Blues and the artist Jewel, so in his memory I post these fitting lyrics.
Jewel -- "Angel Standing By"
All through the night I'll be watching over you And all through the night I'll be standing over you And through bad dreams I'll be right there baby telling you everything's going to be alright When you cry I'll be there baby telling you were never nothing less than beautiful So don't you worry I'm your Angel standing by
Moody Blues - "Twilight Time"
Twilight Time, to dream awhile In veils of deepening gloom As fantasy strides over colourful skies The earth disappearing from view
In twilight time, dream with me awhile
A nightingale plays a dark mellow phrase Of notes that are rich and so true An aerial displayed by the firefly brigade Dancing to tunes no one knew
In twilight time, dream with me awhile In twilight time, dream with me awhile
Building castles in the air Whistling to the wind As nature bows down her head See what tomorrow brings
Twilight time, dream with me awhile
Bats take to wing, like puppets on a string Prancing in the cool evening air In a sightless glide, no reason to hide Away from the sun's blinding stare
In twilight time, dream with me awhile In twilight time, dream with me awhile

I'm going to default to a list for this update. Lots of random thoughts tonight.
- Maya cut her first tooth last night! Her bottom, left, front tooth came through and the right one is soon to follow! She is getting big soo fast!
- She now calls Jason "Dada", her bottle and anything that goes in her mouth is "baba", and I am..."Bob". So proud, so proud.
- I got laid off yesterday.
- I got a new job this week!
- Our Financial Peace University class is amazing. We are learning so much and each Wednesday I get to have a date with my husband and FREE babysitter. We may have a house someday YET! We would HIGHLY recommend this program to anyone looking for a financial plan. It's brilliant.
- Lissa Scott and Luke Hjelle are getting married tomorrow! Congratulations kiddos!
- Jason and I are 4 days away from our 2 year anniversary! That's crazy! It's gone by so quickly!

This weekend we made the 5 hour trek to Neenah, Wisconsin for Grandma J's funeral. Although the circumstances weren't great, it was wonderful to get to see all of the Jacques and Grodes. Maya was such a trooper, despite her cold and having to sleep in the swing both nights in order to breathe:-( Poor babe...

We have had a lot of drama in our family the past day and a half. Yesterday morning we received word from Jason's mom that his Grandma Jacques (Jeanne's mom) passed away. She was such a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
On a happier note, this morning, Amber and Morgan were blessed with their first baby! Noah David Olson was born at 10:14am, weighing in at 6lbs 5oz and 18inches long. Congratulations, Mommy and Daddy!!!
